Thursday North Gate Blockade
We were at the base sooner then we realised and soon we were all out running at the North Gate of the Faslane base, we all thought that it would be really difficult and that there would be loads of police waiting for us but we made it across the round-a-bout and got ourselves quickly on to the ground telling the police we were tightly locked on.
After a quick warning from the police and our declaration that we were not going to move the best sound was hearing the police officers confirming to others that there were four protesters blocking the entrance to the North Gate of Faslane. I was so pleased and felt very proud to be part of the year long blockade.
The police decided to move us out of the way while we were locked on but we successfully blockaded the gate at peak time for fifteen minutes at least, I am really happy with the result.
After we were pulled aside we decided to unlock ourselves as we were no longer blocking the road and we didn't want to waste police time, it was the base we were intending to create problems for not the police.
We were taken to a van, formally arrested and searched and waited while the police filled in a lot of paperwork. We were all taken to the same police station where we spent about 27 hours in cells, we were allowed to take our books in and everyone was really nice and accommodating. We were all finger printed and when I asked I was told that they would be removed from the database within a few months.
Although the food is not great and you are alone for 27 hours I would do it all again.
